Local Recommendations
Ljubljana and Slovenia have a lot to offer. We recommend that you first stop by the Tourist Information Center (Adamič-Lundrovo nabrežje 2), where they will be happy to give you advice and itineraries tailored to your needs. Nevertheless, please find some of our own recommendations below:
Must-See Highlights
- Walk through the city center: Explore the bridges (Triple Bridge, Dragon Bridge, Cobbler’s Bridge), the main squares (Prešernov trg, Mestni trg, Kongresni trg), and the charming streets along the Ljubljanica River.
- Ljubljana Central Market: Located just across from the conference venue, this lively morning market offers fresh local produce daily. Don’t miss the covered parts for cheese, charcuterie, fish, and pastries.
- Ljubljana Castle: We’ll have our conference dinner there, but it’s worth a visit anytime for the panoramic views, exhibitions, and history. You can walk up one of several scenic paths or take the funicular (free tickets will be provided to SyntaxFest participants).
